Twelfth-seeded Marist made fifth-seeded University of Virginia work to advance Saturday in the opening round NCAA Division I Women's Tournament at Galen Center in Los Angeles. Balanced scoring from the Cavaliers' stars carried them into the second round at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. There they will face fourth-seeded University of California, which had no problem dispatching Fresno State.
